Now taking submissions for Second Annual Kevin Smith-themed Art Show

In celebration of writer/director Kevin Smith returning to the Alamo Drafthouse (bringing with him fellow podcaster Ralph Garman for a live taping of their popular show Hollywood Babble-On), we're throwing our second annual Kevin Smith-themed art show. Every week Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman entertain their fans with the hysterically funny podcast Hollywood Babble-On. Now's your chance to see the two do their magic live — as Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman perform a live taping of Hollywood Babble-On at the Alamo Drafthouse - West Oaks on Saturday, August 27.

To celebrate Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman coming to the Alamo Drafthouse, we're hosting our second annual Kevin Smith-themed art show! To see pictures from last year's show, click here. The artwork for this year's show will be displayed from August 22 to August 28. Here's the full run down of rules, submission details and more:

Guidelines for Kevin Smith Art Show

Current Theme:Kevin Smith, Related Movies, Smodcast Podcast Network

  • All artwork should be a reflection of the current theme, any artwork deemed offensive will not be accepted (please keep it PG-13 as we are located in a family theater)
  • Each artist can submit up to six (6) pieces of original artwork.
  • The deadline for submission is:  AUGUST 14th 2011
  • Submissions will be accepted via e-mail (using JPG files)
  • Please do not bring any artwork to the store until you are notified of acceptance.
  • Work must be ready to hang (i.e. Canvas, Framed, Mounted) – No loose paper or card will be accepted
  • Work can be in any medium (must be dry)
  • Weight of each piece must not exceed twenty (20) pounds
  • Artwork size must not exceed 6 foot by 6 foot.
  • All selected work must be delivered to the Alamo by AUGUST 17th 2011
  • All artwork must be signed and a piece of paper should be attached to the back with the following information:  artist contact information (name, e-mail and phone), and the title & asking price for the piece. Artwork arriving without this information will not be displayed.
  • Artists will receive 80% commission off any sales. The curator will retain 20% commission on any sales.
  • There is no guarantee of sale. All unsold artwork must be picked up by September 5th 2011.
  • The Alamo will do their best to safeguard the artwork, however, the Alamo assumes no liability for damage or theft.
  • Be creative and have fun!!
