November is full of huge new releases, like SKYFALL and BREAKING DAWN PT. 2, and we begin to welcome the holidays with family-friendly events!

Thursday, November 1Free college football on the big screen!  VIRGINIA TECH vs. MIAMI, 7:30 pm.  Free tickets are available at the box office only, and limited to four tickets per customer.


Saturday, November 3Fantastic Fest Presents THE AMERICAN SCREAM.  Director Michael Stephenson (BEST WORST MOVIE) presents a documentary about families obsessed with creating haunted houses at Halloween. 


Sunday, November 4Afternoon Tea: DANGEROUS LIASONS.  Watch the 1988 film featuring Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer, and John Malkovich and enjoy tea treats and a flight of three gourmet teas.  Ticket price includes tea service with treats.


Monday, November 5Music Monday:  THE ROLLING STONES: SOME GIRLS, LIVE IN TEXAS ’78.  A live concert film from the Studio 54-era Stones with a new introduction by Mick Jagger.  Shot on 16mm in 1978, the concert film has been upgraded to high definition with a 5.1 audio track.


Tuesday, November 6 The Action Pack Presents: OLD SCHOOL QUOTE-ALONG.  The classic comedy with Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn, featuring on-screen dialogue for audience participation.


Wednesday, November 7 Girlie Night: BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY.  It’s the girlie night movie everyone always requests, complete with a girlie drink and dessert menu.

Thursday, November 8POLICE ACADEMY.  Register to win tickets to see a live appearance in Winchester to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters featuring Michael Winslow (the guy who makes all the crazy sounds in the movie).  His appearance will be at the Sportsplex on Nov. 15, and he will have a special VIP meet-and-greet at the Alamo earlier that night.


Thursday, November 8Midnight Premiere: SKYFALL.  The new James Bond movie arrives.  The early word is that this one is amazing…


November 9 -11 Drafthouse Films presents MIAMI CONNECTION.  A completely insane film with motorcycle ninjas and a multi-national martial arts rock band.  What?!?!


Sunday, November 11Free Family Fun: CHICKEN RUN.  A free screening of an animated film from the makers of Wallace & Gromit, Pirates: Band of Misfits, and Arthur Christmas.


Tuesday, November 13Bangarang!: POINT BREAK.  Kathryn Bigalow (The Hurt Locker) directs this yarn about an unruly gang of surfing bank robbers starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.


Tuesday, November 13 - AMERICAN GRAFFITI.  The George Lucas box office smash starring Ron Howard.  Tickets on sale soon.


Wednesday, November 14Big Screen Classics: NETWORK.  A brilliant commentary on American media, and a winner of 4 Oscars.


Wednesday, November 14Local film premiere – A LITTLE OFF THE TOP.  Watch a double feature of locally-produced shorts including the brand new film A Little Off The Top plus an encore presentation of Your Last Six Inches (filmed partially in the Alamo!)  The evening will include a Q&A with the director of the films, Joseph Durbin.  Tickets and more information coming soon.


Thursday, November 15TWILIGHT MARATHON – Watch the entire Twilight film series in back-to-back presentations, finishing with a 10 pm premiere of the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2.  Tickets include reserved seats, and are available only at the Alamo box office.


Tuesday, November 20Big Screen Classics: PLANES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES.  It’s THE Thanksgiving movie, starring John Candy and Steve Martin. 


November 26 - December 9 - THE POLAR EXPRESS.  Our always-popular family event returns with daily screenings of The Polar Express.  There will be a conductor in the lobby, as well as optional commemorative tickets, hot chocolate, and holiday cookies.  Wear your pajamas! Tickets on sale soon.
