Music Mania at the Ritz: Octopus Project, DJ Spooky, Tosca Strings & more!

We got the jamzAs everybody starts getting all pumped up about SXSW we have our own incredible music events coming up at the Ritz.

On Sunday February 15 we have DJ Spooky in person introducing the new film documentation of his fascinating, music-silent film mash-up REBIRTH OF A NATION. Also catch him performing live at the Mohawk on Friday the 13th.

Then on Wednesday February 25th we have Austin's own Octopus Project performing a set of live scores to some of their favorite experimental short films. They've been working hard and composing all new pieces so it should be a great show.

Then on March 1 the Tosca String Quartet will team up with the Golden Hornet Project for a big 10th Anniversary Concert featuring compositions by Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky, Peter Stopschinski, Josh Robins, and Graham Reynolds, along with the US premiere of a piece by Gabriel Prokofiev and world premieres by Emily Marks, Tina Marsh and Lauren Larson.

And as always, Music Monday brings you the best music docs and performance films every week for 2 bucks!
