Austin, TX – Friday, October 19, 2012 – This Halloween, when the solid door of Midnight Cowboy closes behind you, you’ll be able to escape the Zombie Invasion predicted for East 6th Street and all of downtown Austin. Already a refuge from the lively 6th Street scene, Midnight Cowboy will step up its efforts over the Halloween weekend, ensuring a respite from the onslaught of Zombies and costumed revelers that will throng Downtown.
Make it through the gauntlet of ghouls, goblins, demons and vampires, and Midnight Cowboy will be ready with tasty cocktails strong enough to ward off the undead, defeat the Dark Lord and ensure safe passage on the front lines of the Zombie Apocalypse.
Starting on Friday, October 26th, and continuing each open night through Halloween, Midnight Cowboy offers a bit of peace and quiet, the time to talk to your friends and a specialty menu of $10 Zombie cocktails that starts with the Don The Beachcomber original from 1934, and finishes with more modern variations from Spence Weaver (1970), Rikki Brodrick (2009), Frank Cisneros (2011) and Midnight Cowboy (2012).
In addition, the special Halloween themed menu will feature five $9 classic cocktails designed to raise the dead and energize you for the rest of your evening. If Zombies scare you, sip on a Corpse Reviver#2, a Widow's Kiss, an El Diablo, a Satan's Whiskers (curly or straight), or a Blood and Sand, all while taking a well-earned break from the street scene outside. A full drink menu is available for download here.
