Do you love movies? Do you love to talk about movies? We’re looking for a few new additions to the Alamo Drafthouse family.
If you’ve ever been to one of our events, you may have noticed that we like to have hosts come out before the movie and talk about what the audience is about to watch. These are Event Coordinators. They are trained to help turn screenings into full-blown Alamo Drafthouse events whether it be through knowledgeable introductions, fun pre-movie games or just policing the theater for annoying distractions that might otherwise hamper the movie-viewing experience. Think you've got what it takes to get the crowd amped up at the next PRINCESS BRIDE Quote-Along? Interested in earning a little money in the process?
If any of that sounds like fun to you, you're in luck - we're currently looking for a handful of charismatic emcees who are comfortable being themselves in front of a crowd, and we're going to pay them to perform. We are actively looking for more hosts who can run the show for New Release movies, Sing-Alongs, Quote-Alongs, Big Screen Classics or all-day film marathons. If that sounds as awesome to you as it does to us, then we want to hear from you.
If you are interested in becoming an Event Coordinator for the Alamo Drafthouse, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. On Sunday, January 6 from 3 PM to 5 PM and Wednesday, January 9 from 6 PM to 8 PM, we’ll hold auditions for the position.
Event Coordinators will be paid for their hosting duties, as well as receive complimentary food and drink vouchers during the event. Alamo Drafthouse Event Coordinators are on-site representatives of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema during special events and Rolling Roadshows. Event Coordinators are responsible for working with the Creative Department to ensure that everything is prepared in advance of an event and are on-site during an event to provide hosting duties (as required), monitor in-theater disturbances and help troubleshoot any problems that may arise during a given event.
An Event Coordinator should have an extensive knowledge of the Alamo Drafthouse brand values, concept and policies, a passion for film and showmanship and have strong communicative skills and an extroversive personality.
If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask.
