Lagunitas Beer Dinner with Shakes the Clown March 16th at Lake Creek!

The Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek has partnered with the "Head Beer Weasel" Ron Lindenbusch from the quirky Lagunitas brewery in Petaluma, CA to create an evening full of amazing beer, food, and yes, clowns. The Lagunitas brewery was founded in Lagunitas, CA in 1993, but moved to nearby Petaluma, CA when they quickly outgrew the brewery. Lagaunitas is known for  iconoclastic interpretations of traditional beer styles, and irreverent descriptive text and stories on their packaging. Brewed in a "bizarre old world tradition" using only water, hops, yeast, and malted barley, the beer line up for next Wednesday's dinner is pretty special.

Ron is hosting the show and bringing with him a rare keg of  Hop Stoopid as well as some aged cases of Old Gnarlywine and Brown Shugga which Executive Chef John Bullington has paired with tantalizing dishes that compliment the beers as well as the film.

The Menu:

Calamari and spring garlic tempura with arbol peanut butter spread
Beer: Censored Ale

Pastrami sandwich, leek confit on pretzel bread with sumpin' aujus
Beer: Little Sumpin' Sumpin'

Venison sausage in a fresh grated corn batter with hop mustard
Beer: Hop Stoopid

Bacon wrapped pork loin with caramel apple, sweet potato puree and grilled boggy creek farm vegetables
Beer: Old Gnarlywine (2008)

Peach Flan with almond crisp
Beer: Brown Shugga (2008)

Shakes the Clown has been touted as "the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies" and was Bobcat Goldthwait's directorial debut. We will be showing a pristine 35mm print of this cult classic that features hilarious cameos from Robin Williams and an early Adam Sandler. The Lagunitas Brewery hosts a "Beer Circus" every year in San Francisco to celebrate clowns, freaks, and of course, beer, which inspired the beer and film pairing. If you love craft beer, amazing food, and alcoholic clowns, then this the must attend event of the year!
