Hey Alamo friends!
First, congratulations are in order for our Drafthouse Films team. Our upcoming release BULLHEAD was just nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Feature! That's pretty huge news. We're incredibly proud to be representing this film stateside, and we actually have a few screenings of it this weekend, so try to catch it if you can!
We're also gearing up for the Grand Opening of our newest Austin Alamo down south on Slaughter Lane & Mopac! The Alamo Slaughter Lane Grand Opening date is March 22nd (just in time for us to hold some HUNGER GAMES of our own...), but we'll actually be open to the public starting March 8th! We'll be in soft open, so the titles will be a few months old, but you can still check it out then and help us work out all the kinks! Oh yeah, our tequila and Mexican-inspired bar THE 400 RABBITS is opening then too.
Other exciting things to note: if you believe in the power of dance, you'll want to park it at the Ritz for a few hours on Sunday as we blow through THREE films at the DANCE MOVIE MARATHON! In fact, you can even win a pair of free tickets! Click HERE and we'll select a random winner by 4pm Friday! Tuesday, we'll be attacking the worst offenders of CGI abuse at COMPUTER ERROR, next Thursday we'll be watching Bill Murray die a billion times at the GROUNDHOG DAY DINNER, this weekend you can catch a rad film that played at Fantastic Fest this past September (A LONELY PLACE TO DIE)... basically there's a lot going on.
So get to it! Tell your friends, tell your mom, and we'll see you at the Oscars... sort of. We won't actually be there. We'll be at home, crossing our fingers, and probably getting pretty drunk if BULLHEAD wins.
