Following the July 2nd and 4th screenings of NOTORIOUS, our 5-film miniseries of our favorite underappreciated and rarely screened Hitchcock titles – Hitchcock: The Dark Side of Genius -- continues on this Monday, July 9th, 7:00pm, at South Lamar with I CONFESS.
Father Michael Logan (Montgomery Clift) is a man caught between the dictates of conscience and creed in this underrated Hitchcock masterpiece. When a poor man visits Logan’s confessional, only to admit to the sin of murder, Logan finds himself between a rock and a hard place – at an impasse with the rules of his faith and his personal ethics. I CONFESS (July 9th) spins a web of intrigue that is signature Hitchcock, while incorporating religious symbolism atypically seen in the better-known, more frequently screened titles.
A reminder that the July 9th, 7:00pm, screening will take place at South Lamar, due to construction at Ritz. In weeks to come, our Hitchcock miniseries will return to Ritz and continue with LIFEBOAT (July 16th), THE WRONG MAN (July 23rd), and SPELLBOUND (July 30th). (Sam Prime)
