The Alamo Drafthouse has kicked off an exciting new project--we started building a house for a local family through Austin Habitat for Humanity. This past weekend, in less than eight hours, we took the house from a bare concrete foundation to a fully framed house with windows. The building site is in a neighborhood of Habitat homes in Central East Austin and we worked alongside neighbors and long-time volunteers. We have a goal of finishing the house by November 17, so Margo Walker-Brown and her two sons can settle into their new home. See our photos from BUILD DAY 1.
Please consider coming out to build with us on one of our seven remaining building days. If you'd like more information or to sign up for a volunteer slot, email Amy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our goal is to have at least 20 volunteers every day and we'd love for one of them to be you!
