At Forever Fest, we're celebrating girlie pop culture with screenings of cherished films, a panel of our favorite young adult authors and a variety of fabulous events the weekend of November 1-3 at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz.
And what better way to wrap up the weekend than with the film adaptation of a beloved young adult novel?
We're absolutely thrilled to announce that Forever Fest will close out with an advance screening of THE BOOK THIEF on Sunday, November 3rd at 3pm at the Alamo Ritz. Even better, the author of the novel, Markus Zusak, will join us for a Q&A and book signing after the film.
This event is absolutely free, but you must RSVP via Eventbrite.
Based on the beloved bestselling book, THE BOOK THIEF tells the inspirational story of a spirited and courageous young girl who transforms the lives of everyone around her when she is sent to live with a new family in World War II Germany.
THE BOOK THIEF has established Markus Zusak as one of the most successful authors to come out of Australia. To date, it has held the number one position at Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, the New York Times bestseller list, as well as in countries across South America, Europe and Asia. It has also been in the top five bestsellers in the UK and several other territories. It has amassed many and varied awards, ranging from literary prizes to readers choice awards to prizes voted on by booksellers. It was the only book to feature on both the USA and UK World Book Night Lists in 2012, and has now been adapted into a major motion picture.
