It’s been thirty years since Harrison Ford first picked up a whip and played Indiana Jones in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. In the years since, Indy has fought heart-ripping cults, beautiful German spies and, yes, dodged a nuclear explosion by hiding in a fridge.
Despite all the wackiness — some beloved, some bemoaned— that’s surrounded Indiana Jones’ adventures over the last 30 years, there’s something undeniably special about that first film that causes it to stand out. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK is like a first kiss for many film fans — if their first kiss involved the melting faces of Nazis.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, we’re throwing a feast of epic proportions. Over this multi-course treat, you’ll be served up a plethora of tasty meals — each paired with a beer from Saint Arnold’s Brewery.
The feast begins as soon as the movie starts with a serving of Jock’s Catch Autumn Rolls. A tribute to Indy’s angler pilot, these pecan-smoked trout filets are sliced and rolled in rice paper with bean sprouts, noodles and crispy vegetables. Delicately fried until just crispy, they are served with a side of tangy plum-ginger sauce perfect for dipping. The beer pairing is a Saint Arnold Weedwacker.
For the second course, we’re serving up Arepas con Puerco — a dish inspired by Dr. Jones’ dash through the South American jungle. These succulent morsels of ancho-glazed pork are braised to tender perfection and served upon a sweet corn arepa. The dish is balanced with fresh avocado and pickled jicama and paired with a glass of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest.
As Marion, Indy’s true love played by Karen Allen, is taking shots at her favorite mountaintop bar, we’ll serve up the third course — Aloo Tama. This traditional Tibetan soup is served up piping hot with a rich vegetable broth, curried potatoes and black-eyed peas. The course is complemented with a piece of fresh baked Nepalese Puri bread and a glass of Saint Arnold Elyssa IPA.
For our forth course, we’re serving up Desert Lamb Roast – fresh made pita served as a vessel for fresh chickpea and cucumber salad, saffron couscous, mint tabouli, roasted garlic tzatziki and slow roasted leg of lamb. The roast is served with a glass of Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 11 Double IPA.
Finally, for our fifth course, we’ll be serving up Deserted Island Trio. As the mysteries of the ark are finally revealed, you’ll enjoy a trio of Mediterranean desserts — a combination of Pecan Baklava, Creamed Goat Cheese and Pomegranate Sorbet. The drink pairing is a glass of Saint Arnold Chardonnay Barrel Aged and Cask Conditioned Farmer’s Brown Ale.
To top off the evening, we’ll be screening RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK in a brand-spanking-new Digital 2K print. The folks at Paramount have remastered this movie classic to look its very best. You’ve never seen RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK like this before, trust me.
Don’t delay in buying your tickets to this one-of-a-kind event because this is one event that will sell out in advance.
