Do Not Pass Go: See UNDER THE BOARDWALK and Party Monopoly Style!

You’ve been sitting around the living room coffee table rolling dice, building hotels, and avoiding jail since you were just a youngster. No matter if your favorite piece is the dog, the racecar, or the thimble, you love the game of mini-capitalism and all of the property-owning life lessons Monopoly has to offer.

UNDER THE BOARDWALK tells the history of the game, its influence on our culture, and also focuses on the Monopoly World Championship, a tournament that brings together players from around the world. It reaches some of the highs of past competition docs like SPELLBOUND and WORDPLAY, all with the gentle nostalgic lens of America’s favorite board game.

The only problem with this engaging film is that by the end of it you will be itching to play the game. We’re going to solve that problem.

After the Lamar premiere on May 16th, we’re going to set up Monopoly boards in the Highball and have a Monopoly playing party! Everyone who buys a ticket will get a chance card good for discounted drinks at the Highball, there will be prizes for the best players, and we’ll have Monopoly-inspired cocktail specials all night. To top it all off we’re going to have our own Mr. Monopoly presiding over the festivities!

The Highball's Head Bartender just concocted this amazing menu of special cocktails themed for the night:

Baltic Avenue - Lone Star and shot of Bulleit
Boardwalk - Acai Martini
Oriental Avenue - Tokyo Tea
Go Directly to Jail-SHOT - Royal Fuck

For this unbelievable night of board game movie fun, you'll have to go to the South Lamar on May 16 at 7pm.  Then head over to the Highball directly after for the party.

If you can't make it to the Lamar screening on May 16, we'll be doing an encore of the film at Lake Creek on May 23, although with no party.
