Participate in this Cloak & Dagger Scavenger Hunt before our free outdoor screening on Friday night for a chance to win a $100 Alamo Drafthouse Gift Card!

This Friday at the very scenic Pearl Park Amphitheater, we’re hosting a free outdoor screening CLOAK & DAGGER, starring Henry Thomas and an almost unrecognizable William Forsythe, as part of our Rolling Roadshow “On The Riverwalk”  series.

Since the film deals with spies and some of the most prominent locations in San Antonio (the river taxi scene in particular comes to mind), we thought it would be fun to have our guests go on a mission of their own leading up to Friday’s screening: a photo scavenger hunt!

I’m going to make this super easy since there’s only a few days to do this, and our winner will get a $100 Alamo Drafthouse gift card, good at any Alamo location.

For a chance to win the gift card, all you have to do is send in two photos! We've provided four locations from the film that you can choose from. Go to two of these places and take the best picture you can - You can recreate the scene, you can dress as the characters, or you can look like you're just having a damn good time. Our creative office will pick three of their favorite sets of photos as the finalists, and word on the street is that they're especially looking for people who are recreating the pose and angle of the shot in the photos. All of the finalists will be projected on our giant inflatable screen on Friday night, and the audience will choose the ultimate winners by applause. You'll need to be at the screening to win, but why wouldn't you be? This movie is great, the Pearl Park Amphitheater is our second favorite place to watch movies in San Antonio (after the Alamo Drafthouse, of course), and it's always a blast to see locations we recognize from our daily life immortalized on celluloid.

To submit your photos, email them to [email protected] with the subject line "Cloak & Dagger Scavenger Hunt" by NOON on FRIDAY, August 12. We're also planning on uploading these to our Alamo San Antonio Facebook page, so please let us know if you would prefer them to not be posted online.

Here are the locations we're looking for, along with the particular shot we'd like to have recreated:

Navarro Street

Ideally you want to find this same corner and get a shot of someone in your group on a walkie talkie with the Tower Life Building in the background.

Arneson River Theater

You don't have to recreate their outfits, but man, if you've got a jacket like that you definitely should! And you should wear it every day.

The Alamo:

This is obviously an easy one to find, and an easy shot to get. But watch out for that security guard!

The Riverwalk :

A lot of this movie happens around the Riverwalk, so we're giving you some options for the perfect Riverwalk shot to recreate...

Swimming in the Riverwalk downtown is probably gross and you can get fined for it. So we don't recommend taking a picture of yourself falling in, like this bad guy is doing. But if you should happen to see a bad guy who's falling into the river anyway, and you take a picture of it, we think that would be pretty cool.

You can also just hide out under someone's table at one of the restaurants on the River Walk...

Or find this bridge and walk under it at night!

And that's it! Get out there and start taking your photos! We'll see you at the screening on Friday night.
