A Meet the Brewers DOUBLE FEATURE: Boulevard Brewing Co. and 903 Brewers

Check out what Dallas' 903 Brewers and Kansas City's Boulevard Brewing Co. have in store for you!

A Meet the Brewers DOUBLE FEATURE: Boulevard Brewing Co. and 903 Brewers

We’ve got a real treat this Thursday and Friday for any thirsty (for both liquid and knowledge) beer lovers! Alamo Drafthouse and the Glass Half Full Taproom have the pleasure of hosting two fantastic breweries: Boulevard Brewing Company and 903 Brewers. You can’t just go throwing the word “fantastic” around without a little explanation, so let’s give them a look.

Since its founding in 1989, Boulevard has gone on to become a powerhouse in the specialty beer world. By way of crafting an extensive list of delectable draughts, Boulevard has gone on to become the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest.

All of Boulevard’s ales are bottle conditioned, a process involving the addition of a tiny bit of sugar to each beer after the bottling stage resulting in one last “hurrah!” for the remaining still-active yeast. This leaves you with one of the freshest beers you’ll taste from a bottle as well as a unique and yeasty last sip from the glass. Boulevard made the trek down from Kansas City, MO with some 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer in tow just so you can come see (taste?) exactly what I mean tonight (9/19) from 6:00-9:00p in the Alamo Drafthouse Richardson lobby.

But wait, there’s more!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a double feature if we didn’t have a second feature. Our friends from 903 Brewers, located just north of us in Sherman, TX, will be joining us in our lobby this Friday (9/20) at 7:00p for a special little experiment with Randall the Enamel Animal; Randall for short. So what’s that exactly? To put it simply, Randall is an “organoleptic hop transducer module.” That is to say, it is able to infuse a beer with any flavor you want. Pretzels? Sure! Cookies? You bet! Some wet hops? Have at it! 903 Brewers will be experimenting with different flavors in their Chosen One Coconut Ale while you get to be the guinea pig, for free. Not a bad deal if you ask us.

If you’re still on the fence, you should probably check some stats:

Boulevard’s 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer:

BeerAdvocate: 88/100 – Very Good; BA’s owners (The Bros) give it a 90/100 - Outstanding
RateBeer: 96/100 – Overall; 100/100 - Style
ABV: 5.5%
IBU: 20
Style: American Pale Wheat Ale

903’s The Chosen One Coconut Ale:

BeerAdvocate: It’s too new for a rating!
RateBeer: Same thing; you’ll need to try it yourself (you’ll thank us… unless you don’t like coconut).
ABV: 6.3%
Style: American Ale
