ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE PRESENTS A FIELD IN ENGLAND FEAST

Opening on February 7th, Drafthouse Films’ A FIELD IN ENGLAND is a psychedelic trip into magic and madness from Ben Wheatley, the award-winning director of DOWN TERRACE, KILL LIST and SIGHTSEERS.  In celebration of the film’s release, Alamo Chef Trish Eichelberger has created a mushroom-centric, vegetarian menu available only at a special screening of A FIELD IN ENGLAND in Austin on Tuesday, February 11.

“After watching the feature I decided that doing a vegetarian dinner would be the best,” said Eichelberger.  “They only dine one time in the movie, on a humble stew made of mushrooms discovered in the field. The first course is direct homage to this- being a mushroom & barley stew in a brown ale broth, the men were in route to an ale house so I though the beer belonged in this course in well.  The second course is a "shooters sandwich" which is a classic English sandwich that is often carried by hunters on their day long hunts. It is made by pressing a cooked steak and mushroom into a rustic loaf of bread over night, in this case i use portobello mushrooms, eggplant, arugula pesto and mozzarella cheese to keep in the vegetarian theme. For dessert a British classic of treacle tart and handmade meringue mushrooms.  Enjoy!”

Join us for the A FIELD IN ENGLAND Feast on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:15PM at Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane. Download the full menu for the event here to see all three amazing courses.
