At 6:30 pm every Sunday in September and October, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Winchester, VA will feature “Alamo Uncorked”, sponsored by The Northern Virginia Daily.  The weekly event will feature an optional wine flight and a special guest speaker to discuss the selected wines.  A short presentation about wine tasting by the guest host will be followed by a movie.  The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is partnering with D’Vine Wines, Murphy’s Beverage, Dixie Beverage and Republic National throughout the series.

 

“We are excited to partner with local wine experts to launch this fun new series at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and will be featuring a wide variety of great wines that relate to the film shown each evening,” said Lisa Limoges, Director of Operations for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. 

 

Films and guests include:

Sept. 4 – Midnight in Paris, with guest hosts Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines in Winchester

Sept. 11 – Chocolat, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

Sept. 18 – Casablanca, with guest hosts Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines

Sept. 25 – The Sound of Music, with guest host Klaus Wittauer of KW Wines from Dixie Beverage

Oct. 2 – An American in Paris, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

Oct. 9 – Letters to Juliet, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

Oct. 16 – Young Frankenstein, with guest hosts Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines

Oct. 23 – The Cotton Club, with guest host Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines

Oct.  30 – Psycho, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

 

Tickets for each film will be $5.  Wine and food will be available at an additional charge.
