Tuskegee Airman to visit Alamo Drafthouse

Mr. Elvin E. Thomas, a member of the Tuskegee Airmen Operation, will be interviewed by Barry Lee from WINC radio before the public showing of Red Tails at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on February 1, 2012 at 6 p.m.

Mr. Thomas was one of the first enlisted men assigned to the Tuskegee Airmen operation and is a native of West Virginia. The film presentation of Red Tails (PG-13) will start immediately following the interview. Tickets are open to the public and seating is first-come, first-served.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated by the Alamo to the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc- a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the Tuskegee Airmen and all involved with the Tuskegee operation.

About Red Tails: The film tells the story of a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program. Having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, the crew is called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. The film stars Academy Award-winning actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, and Emmy-award winning actor Bryan Cranston. Read more about Red Tails here
