The first annual Fantastic Arcade is now over but Fantastic Fest rages on! To send the Arcade out in proper style, we held a video game trivia challenge a-la the classic 80’s game show Starcade that was full of obscure factoids, joysticks skills, and plenty of beer. After 3 rounds of head-to-head arcade action- a victor was crowned, who walked away with a cash prize as well as his very own vintage stand up arcade machine! IFC Midnight, the new genre label of IFC Films, and Fantastic Fest have partnered to give film lovers across the country the opportunity to experience Fantastic Fest as it happens from their own living room.

Fantastic Fest is excited to announce this year’s crop of Fantastic Fest titles which includes some of the brightest and hardest-hitting films of all time. We’ve seen a psycho-kinetic tire, a secret ninja, a town invaded by 8-bit enemies, and a family of cannibals that you might consider going home with. It’s a terrible task to pick favorites and single out any of the magnificent films, but our esteemed team of jurors have done the nearly impossible and chosen the best and most striking films of the festival.

Few animated storytellers possess the brilliant vision of Don Hertzfeldt. Asburd, honest and always entertaining, Hertzfeldt offers stories that are equally heartbreaking and hilarious. His latest effort, WISDOM TEETH, showed Saturday and can be seen again Monday, Sept. 27th at the South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse.
